Rhythm Of The Train

I couldn’t stay
Wanderlust took me away
Suburban life dragging me down
Drove me out of town
I blazed a trail, tried and failed, went off the rails

Thought it was easier to travel alone
To make a new life far away from home
Knowing all along I had myself to blame
I lost myself in the rhythm of the train

You, you were strong
Saw the big picture all along
I should have known
Naive, now I’ve learned and grown
You staked your claim, played the game, stayed the same

I discovered that I can’t live alone
I’m humbled and forgiven now I’m coming home
In the hours ahead before I see you again
I lose myself in the rhythm of the train

Discovered that I can’t live alone
I’m humbled and forgiven and I’m coming home
In the hours ahead before I see you again
I lose myself in the rhythm of the train
